Embracing Faith: Igniting Spiritual Growth and Evangelism
Welcome to OPC’s Super Fantastic Sunday Morning Broadcast! I’m Pastor Marcus, and I’m thrilled to be with you today. As we gather to hear what God has to say to our hearts, let’s embrace the beauty of this day that the Lord has made. It’s a time to relax, enjoy the goodness of the Lord, and be grateful for the gift of life. Remember to hit that share button, like, and invite others to join us as we delve into God’s word.
Prayer
Let’s begin with a word of prayer. Father, we love and bless you this morning. Thank you for the breath of life and the rejuvenation of our bodies. We are grateful for your protection over us and our loved ones. In Jesus’ name, no weapon formed against us shall prosper. Amen.
The Apostolic Tune-Up: Preparing for What’s Coming
We’ve been exploring the series on the Apostolic Tune-Up, focusing on how God is preparing His people for what lies ahead. Just as we prepare our vehicles for winter, we must prepare ourselves spiritually for the seasons to come. Whether it’s a physical exam or a big exam, preparation is key. Similarly, we must make adjustments in our spiritual walk to be ready for whatever comes our way.
Understanding Hebrews 3:1
Let’s turn to Hebrews 3:1, which reminds us to consider Jesus, the Apostle and High Priest of our profession. Jesus, sent by God, accomplished the mission of salvation on Earth. He is our foundational Apostle, and contrary to some beliefs, apostles have not been done away with. We are called to know who we are in Christ before others do, and to live by faith.
The Importance of Active Faith
Active faith is crucial in our spiritual journey. Just as spark plugs ignite the air and fuel mixture in an engine, faith ignites action in a believer’s life. Without faith, we risk spiritual stagnation and inactivity. James 2:17 reminds us that faith without works is dead. We must engage in spiritual growth and evangelism, moving in an evangelistic way to impact others.
Overcoming Spiritual Misfires
When our faith is inactive, we experience spiritual misfires, similar to an engine misfiring due to faulty spark plugs. This leads to sluggishness and decreased spiritual efficiency. We must address these issues by stirring up the gift of God within us, as stated in 2 Timothy 1:6. Surround yourself with those who inspire and ignite your faith, and seek God’s presence for authentic impartation.
Living by Faith
The just shall live by faith, and without faith, it’s impossible to please God. If you feel stagnant or inactive in your faith, seek God for guidance and strength. Change your environment if necessary, and focus on your calling in Christ. Remember, God is in your corner, ready to help you grow and succeed.
Conclusion
Thank you for joining me today on OPC’s Super Fantastic Sunday Morning Broadcast. Let’s continue to embrace faith, ignite spiritual growth, and move in an evangelistic way. As we close, let’s focus on our relationship with God and seek His guidance in all we do. Until next time, may God bless you abundantly.
